The search for a job abroad has become a big part of the international student journey. But unfortunately, alongside genuine opportunities, we are also seeing fake recruiters, fraudulent job listings and misleading promises around visa sponsorship.
This has become a serious enough concern for governments to step in. In February 2026, the UK government expanded its Visa Fraud Se Bache campaign in India, warning people about bogus claims of guaranteed UK jobs and visas, as well as excessive fees. We have also seen enforcement action involving overseas workers who were charged thousands of pounds for employment and visa services that were never actually delivered.
