How Erling Haaland reacted to wrong foot question from Manchester United great Paul Scholes

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes put another smile on the face of Manchester City striker Erling Haaland after he netted a hat-trick to help the Blues beat their cross-city rivals 6-3 at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Norway international continued his outstanding start to life in England, scoring three goals to increase his tally for the season in all competitions to 17. Like team-mate Phil Foden, he scored twice in the first half, ensuring the Blues were 4-0 up at half time, before completing his hat-trick after the break.

It was another sensational performance from the 22-year-old, who also added two assists to his tally of direct goal involvements. United could not deal with his movement and presence at the top end of the pitch, leaving manager Erik ten Hag to reflect on a disastrous afternoon.

The excitement surrounding Haaland is continuing to grow at a rapid rate of knots, such is his unrivalled talent and potential. He has scored 14 goals in the Premier League already this season and there is a general feeling that this is just the start of what's to come.

He is monstrous in the air and deadly on his left-foot, as highlighted against United. But Scholes, joking in his post-match analysis of the game, said he is keen to see what the former Dortmund man can produce from his right-foot.

Just as Scholes made the remark, sparking laughter in the studio from fellow pundits Michael Owen and Shaun Wright-Phillips, plus presenter Steve Bower, Haaland appeared for a post-match interview and had heard Scholes' remarks, resulting in the striker laughing.

"He has just got everything," Scholes told Premier League Productions, moments before Haaland arrived for his interview. "He has got everything you want in a centre-forward: size, strength, movement and the cleverness. He has obviously got a brilliant left-foot, I'm not sure what his right-foot is like, but I'm sure we will find out at some point!"
