The Boston Celtics have signed unrestricted free agent Dalano Banton away from the Toronto Raptors after some reports early in the NBA’s 2023 free agency period tied the Canadian guard to the Celtics. Banton, who will fill the Celtics’ point guard depth behind likely starter Derrick White, 2023 Sixth Man of the Year Malcolm Brogdon, and reserve guard Payton Pritchard, has the ability to play some shooting guard as well in what will likely go down as a depth addition.
He is reportedly signed with Boston for a total of two years, with a second year having been carved out as a team option to offer the Celtics some security in case the move does not pan out.
CLNS Media’s Bobby Manning put together a clip that breaks down Banton as a player and what’s next for the Celtics after this latest piece of business.
Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear what he has to say about Boston’s newest floor general.
