Nearly six years after Texas State University student Jason Landry mysteriously vanished following a late-night car crash, his remains have finally been found, but their location has left one of the biggest questions surrounding his disappearance unanswered: how did he end up about five miles from his abandoned car?

DNA analysis conclusively identified recently recovered skeletal remains as Landry, who was 21 when he disappeared on 13 December 2020 while driving from San Marcos to his family home in Missouri City, Texas. A local resident discovered the remains on 8 September east of Salt Flat Road, between Soda Springs and Biggs Road, according to the Texas Attorney General's Office.
