NEW DELHI: The Congress's stock is possibly at its lowest level in its long history. While its numerical strength in both houses of Parliament has been one of the lowest and the number of states it is governing is also the least ever, its importance among the opposition parties has never been as low as it is now.
In the past, even though Congress was out of power, it at least remained the fulcrum of opposition parties. However, for the first time, Congress has been stripped of this centrality among opposition parties. It seems to be losing the pole position among opposition parties.
