Three men are set to find out their fates for their "clumsy and incompetent" attempt at a home invasion at Lake Macquarie before one of them was shot.
The botched break-in involved the trio being unable to get through the front gate at the Belmont North cul-de-sac in the early hours of February 23 last year, then failing to gain entry to the home despite sledgehammering the front door.
