Kyle Vassell has singled out Callum McGregor as the player that elevates this Celtic team to another level.
The Kilmarnock striker got a glimpse first hand of the Scotland international in action on Sunday and was blown away by how good he was. Ange Postecoglou's side ran out 4-1 winners at Rugby Park, with the damage done by half-time. Matt O'Riley, Kyogo and Daizen Maeda may have got on the scoresheet, but it was McGregor's influence that had Vassell raving.
The midfielder is amongst the candidates for Player of the Year this season, and going by Vassell's reaction, he'll be there or there about when it comes to getting the votes from his fellow professionals. With a League Cup winners medal already in his pocket, a Premiership one to come and a Scottish Cup semi-final against Rangers on the horizon, it's feasible that McGregor could pick up every team and individual honour realistically available to him this term.
"McGregor’s so good," said Vassell. "He's so good at football. He runs you away to make space for other players.
“The way they’re organised, they’re so disciplined and they just keep the ball. So my comparison would be a Premier League team.”
