Hospitals and health insurance companies' use of AI may be driving Americans' healthcare costs up by nearly a billion dollars, according to a new report.
The Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, which represents Blue Cross insurance plans, released a report on Thursday that found that codes used for billing were more complex in 2024 and 2025 than they were in 2023, even when there was no evidence suggesting the patients were receiving different treatments from their hospitals.
