A 24-year-old Houston man who disappeared while visiting Great Smoky Mountains National Park has been found dead at Abrams Falls, his family said. Divers recovered Sahil Jilani's body from the water at the waterfall, ending a search that began after his family lost contact with him and his phone's location sharing stopped in an area without service.
Official findings on how he died are still pending. His family said they believe he drowned after being caught in powerful currents, but authorities had not released a cause of death as of Oct. 12.
