Housing activists have occupied the historic Iveagh Markets in the Liberties.
The group, calling itself the Revolutionary Workers Union Council entered the Francis Street building, which had been unused for 20 years, on Thursday evening. They renamed the premises to "Ionad Cathal Brugha".
In a statement, the Revolutionary Housing League said: "This space should be in the hands of the community. The RWUC have liberated it, will now make it safe for use and hold it for the local community."
