Martin Lewis has predicted UK households are about to be around £446 better off each year, on average, from July.
On Thursday (May 25), energy regulator Ofgem will announce its new price cap, set to start on July 1 and last for three months. The "cap" dictates what almost all homes in England, Scotland and Wales will pay for their electricity and gas.
On his Money Saving Expert website, Mr Lewis has forecast the cap will drop from the current £2,500 per average household to £2,054.

Ofgem's strategy head recently appeared on Good Morning Britain and, when pressed by Mr Lewis, confirmed what we pay will drop - though he wouldn't say what the new rate will be.
Mr Lewis said: "Price cap rates will likely drop 35 - 40%, but what we pay will drop an average 15 - 20%. Since last October, what we pay hasn't been at the price cap, but a lower rate set by Government.
"It's called the Energy Price Guarantee (EPG), and kicks in when the price cap is too high. The state pays the difference. From July, the new lower cap will be under the guarantee level, so we'll pay that."
Cornwall Insight predicts the cap will be around £2,054 from July, and then £1,976 from October, though the latter rate is less certain given it is further away.
Mr Lewis continued: "Next winter, most'll likely still pay similar to the winter just gone (double the one before that). For most, the drop in the rate paid won't make up for last winter's £66 per month support.
"Lower users will fare worst, as the £66 was proportionately a bigger reduction on their bills. If the predictions are right, it'll still leave people paying around double or more what they did before the energy crisis hit in autumn 2021."
