Lisa McClain will deliver the speech for Johnson, while Rep. Pete Aguilar will do the same for Jeffries, according to a source familiar with the matter.
During the nomination process, the clerk will call for nominations, and members-elect will nominate candidates. Those who nominate a candidate will have the opportunity to speak in support of their choice. While Johnson and Jeffries will be nominated by members-elect from their own parties, any member-elect can nominate any candidate.
