- Before receiving his cancer diagnosis, Beale was admitted to intensive care due to a severe gut blockage, where he remained unaware of the underlying cause of his illness.
- Despite his ongoing treatment, the 65-year-old is touring with the RSC in a puppet production of Venus and Adonis, a role he finds manageable during his recovery.
- Beale expects to make a full recovery, reporting minimal side effects from chemotherapy, and recalled being reassured by a consultant when he questioned whether he would die.
