Hour-by-hour weather forecast for Parklife at Heaton Park on Sunday

Parklife festival rolls into its second day at Heaton Park today as thousands of party goers descend onto the park again. Many may be completely exhausted after a night of music and Champions League Final celebrations, but the sunny weather this morning is bound to have perked everyone up.

The 1975, The Prodigy, Honey Dijon, Mall Grab, and Wu-Tang Clan + Nas: NY State of Mind, are just some of the performers people have to look forward to at Heaton Park today. The weather manages to stay dry yesterday despite the forecast of rain across the region.

Temperatures are expected to reach highs of at least 28oC and is likely to stay in the 20s until the close of the festival. Sun is forecast for the afternoon until around 3pm when a thunderstorm is predicted, which could bring torrential rain.

However, following this the sun is predicted to return before a mostly dry but overcast evening. Regarding the weather warning for thunderstorms, Met Office says: "High temperatures on Sunday will trigger showers and thunderstorms across the warning area, some of which are likely to be torrential , perhaps bringing a few places 30-40 mm in an hour.

"The odd place, affected by multiple showers, could see more than this, perhaps in excess of 60 mm in a few hours, most likely across Wales and central England. As well as rain, additional hazards will be hail, strong gusts of wind, and lightning. Despite this, some places in the warning area will remain dry, or see only small amounts of rain, due to the scattered nature of the heaviest showers."
