Hour by hour Nottinghamshire weather forecast as 'weather monster' predicted

Snow has been forecast to hit the UK later this week by some by some weather experts. The temperatures are set to get colder, with the Met Office predicting highs of 2C and lows of -3C towards the end of this week.

Currently the Met Office has not predicted snow, but according to the Apple Weather app, there is a 40 percent chance of snow for parts of Nottinghamshire on Thursday, December 8, a 50 percent chance of snow on Saturday, December 10 and a 60 percent chance on Sunday, December 11.

A weather outlook from the Met Office looking at Wednesday, December 7 to Friday, December 9 states it will be: "Very cold, especially overnight with widespread frosts. Often sunny, however daytime temperatures remaining close to freezing.

"Showers, most likely along coasts, increasingly wintry to lower levels with icy patches possible." Similarly, the office's UK long range weather forecast from December 9 until Sunday, December 18, states: "It is expected to remain cold on Friday, with occasional showers especially in the north near the coasts, these likely falling as sleet or snow.

"Many inland areas will remain fine and dry, especially in the south. Into the weekend, conditions remain cold, with wintry showers mainly affecting windward coasts, any accumulations of snow away from northern Scotland likely confined to higher hills."

It continued: "Many inland areas could well stay fine and dry throughout although there will be some sharp overnight frosts along with the odd patch of freezing fog which could be slow to clear. Some bands of rain may push into the south after the weekend, possibly wintry, especially over higher ground.

"Temperatures remaining cold throughout with a chance of a short spell of very cold weather." Here is the Met Office weather forecast for Nottingham as the temperatures are expected to drop.
