Hour-by-hour North East weather forecast from the Met Office on Friday

If you're heading out on Friday then you're in luck as it looks set to be a perfect autumn day.

The Met Office has said that November 4 will be a bright and sunny day, however, you'll need to wrap up warm as it will be a chilly start at around 5°C. The sunshine will see temperatures rise in the afternoon reaching highs of 10°C before turning into a clear night.

Looking ahead to the weekend, the weather looks set to change, bringing a period of heavy rain on Saturday morning. By the afternoon it will be dry with some sunshine and highs of 10°C.

A Met Office spokesman said: "A cold but fine start on Friday, with morning fog patches clearing. Mainly fine by day with sunny periods, perhaps interrupted in the afternoon by one or two light showers in places. Maximum temperature 11 °C. The outlook for Saturday to Monday is g enerally unsettled, with showers or longer spells of rain interspersed with clearer periods.

"Windy at times too, especially early next week. Temperatures near normal at first, but steadily trending upwards."
