A hospital worker has dodged jail after stealing £19,000 from the estate of a porter in the 'most appalling betrayal of that trust imaginable'.
Kate Connelly, who worked as a clerical officer at Stepping Hill, was made executor of Ken Sutherland's will just two days before he died of cancer.
Following his death, the mum-of-two then made a series of cash withdrawals to spend on herself, stealing money that Ken had wished to go to the dementia and oncology wards where he had previously worked and that had cared for him in his final moments.
