
Hospices in England have welcomed a multimillion funding boost but the Government has been accused of “giving with one hand and taking with the other” amid costs caused by a national insurance rise.
The Conservatives said Labour is taking millions of pounds from hospices and palliative care charities by making changes to employers’ national insurance contributions (NICs) – announced in the autumn Budget – and then telling them to be “grateful” for getting some money back.
