Three people have tragically died and two others left injured following a horror car crash on the A38 in Derbyshire. The one car involved, a silver Ford Focus, was on the southbound carriageway of the major road during the early hours of Saturday morning (April 23) when it left the road and crashed into a tree.
Police and ambulance crews rushed to the scene, near to the exit for the B600 at Somercotes, at around 2.15am. However, Derbyshire Police has confirmed that two women and a man died at the scene.
The force added that their families are aware and are being supported by specially trained officers. A man and a woman were also taken to hospital with serious injuries after the crash.
