A horrific incident in Cork on Tuesday afternoon involving a truck jackknifing saw emergency services including gardai and the fire brigade race to the scene.
The N28 at Raffeen is shut as a result of the collision, which saw a car transporter truck jackknife, leading to a multi-vehicle collision, according to local reports.
Gardai, firefighters and paramedics remain at the scene, while diversions are expected to be in place for the next few hours.

A message from Cork Safety Alerts reads: "Reports of a multi-vehicle collision on the N28 Cork - Ringaskiddy Road near Raheen. Emergency services are en route. Take care on approach."
A Garda spokesperson told the Irish Mirror: "Gardaí and emergency services are currently attending a two-vehicle traffic collision that occurred on the N28 between Shannonpark and Shanbally Village, Co Cork.
"Diversions are in place while the scene is being attended. No further details are available at this time."
