A teenage boy has been stabbed in the face after a brutal attack in north-west London.

Police were called at 12.20am on Wednesday, 6 April to reports of a stabbing in Mandeville Road, Northolt.

Officers attended along with London Ambulance Service and found an 18-year-old man with a stab injury to his face.

He was taken to hospital where his injury was assessed as not life-threatening.

No arrests have been made.

Police also reponsded to reports of a shooting half a mile away in Dabbs Hill Lane. Scotland Yard said there is nothing to suggest the stabbing is linked to the shots fired thirty minutes before.

No gunman was found and no injuries were reported.

To prevent further violence in the area a Section 60 was authorised giving officers additional stop and search powers, police said.
