Detectives have issued CCTV and video footage of a man wanted in connection with a shooting in Stockport. The man was caught on camera at approximately 4pm on Friday April 21 2023, taking aim at a property on Wilmslow Road.
No one was injured and the man than ran off up Wilmslow Road. He was captured on CCTV removing his face covering a short distance away.
Detective Superintendent Neil Jones, of South Manchester District, said: “Firstly, I want to speak directly to the community in and around the Wilmslow Road area. We appreciate how concerned you must be but we want to reassure you that we believe that this was a targeted attack.

“Since this occurred, we have increased patrols around the area and have employed additional Force resources whilst we locate this individual and keep the community safe.
“It’s imperative that we identify and locate this man as soon as possible. Our primary aim is to protect the communities within the Greater Manchester and as such, firearms discharges will not be tolerated.
"Thankfully, no injuries were reported and we are following up a number of lines of inquiry to trace and arrest the person responsible.
"We are now appealing to members of the public who might have witnessed something or might have information that could aid our investigation to please come forwards and share it with us.
“I urge anyone who has any information or may have CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage from Wilmslow Road at the time of the incident, to contact us on 0161 856 6023 quoting log number 2196 of 21/04/2023.
