This is the horror moment a dad's leg "snapped in half" after an awkward landing on a trampoline.
Ryan Schelin, 30, had taken his kids to DEFY Boise trampoline park in Nampa, Idaho, US, when he challenged himself to bounce high enough to touch the top of a 12ft padded wall.
But in shocking footage, which has since gone viral, the dad-of-three is seen raising his hands during a mid-air celebration as he achieves the feat to the delight of his cheering family.
However, 18-stone Ryan then "loses concentration" and lands with all his weight on his right leg - causing it to "buckle" under the pressure and "snap" with a loud crack.
Ryan said the accident left him able to "fold his leg in half" and see the bones sticking out of his flesh.
After being blue-lighted to hospital he was forced to undergo surgery where a metal rod was inserted to hold the two broken bones together for the rest of his life.
Ryan's wife Shandra Schelin, 30, has since banned him and their three children from playing on a trampoline again.
He's shared footage of the horrific accident, from September 2021, and warned adults to be careful and 'stay within their skill set' to avoid a similar accident.
The video has been viewed more than 10 million times on TikTok leaving some users feeling sick.
Ryan, from Rathdrum, Idaho, US, said: "It was painful but it was more like a really bad burning sensation.
"I knew [it was broken] instantly because I looked down and I saw that my leg was sideways and not sitting normally.
"When I laid back on the trampoline and tried to pick my leg up it folded in half and I saw both of my bones pop out.
"That's the first time I've ever broken any bones in my body and it was the worst thing I've felt.
"There were people who were at the front of the building that heard my leg snap.
"The first thing I thought was that I was going to pass out so I just laid back on the trampoline and started apologising to my wife.
"She had just had our baby and was taking care of our other two kids who were under five years old and on top of that now had to take care of me.
"I had been trying to touch the top of the wall on and off throughout the two hours we were there because some of the guys who have done it a lot more are able to jump up on top of it.
"It was time for us to get ready to leave and right before we were going to leave I was like 'I'm going to try one more time'.
"I finally got up high enough to where I was able to touch the top of the wall and I celebrated and in the video you can hear my mother-in-law cheering.
"Instead of pushing myself away from the wall like I should have, I kind of just fell straight down to the trampoline and put all of my weight on my right leg and it just buckled.
"I've had people ask me how did my leg break just from what I was doing but if you have a bigger guy coming down with all his weight on one leg something's going to give and it happened to be my leg that gave out.
"That was my first time on a trampoline like that. It wasn't anyone's fault except my own because I pushed away from the wall weirdly.
"If you're on a trampoline I would recommend staying within your skill set. If you're not sure what you're doing, just be extra careful.
"I would get on a trampoline tomorrow and I've said it jokingly to my wife but she doesn't want me or the kids anywhere near a trampoline, so we avoid them.
"My wife has yet to watch the video. Any time it pops up she refuses to watch it because it was pretty gruesome."
Ryan had visited the adult-friendly trampoline park the day before with kids Easton and Olivia Schelin, then five and three, but returned as he wanted to try it out with them.
He says that after the accident paramedics had to crawl onto the trampoline to move him onto a stretcher and take him to Saint Alphonsus Medical Center, Nampa, Idaho.
Ryan spent the night with splints attached to his broken leg before undergoing surgery the next day where a metal rod was inserted to keep the bones in place for the rest of his life.
After another day recovering in the hospital and working with a physical therapist to ensure he could walk on crutches, the family were allowed to make the nine-hour drive home.
The mechanic's leg was in a boot for three months and took personal training sessions until he was able to walk unaided and drive five months after the horrifying incident.
His TikTok has been viewed more than 10 million times with users explaining they couldn't help but recoil with shock after viewing the footage.
One said: "I can't be the only one that curled my toes."
Another said: "Heard the snap, yelled 'nope', paused the video. I'm feeling nauseous now. Such a rollercoaster of emotion."
A third added: "I literally covered my mouth in shock."
