Today McDonald's closed every single one of its branches across the country as the UK tuned in to watch the Queen's funeral. The fast food giant faced some criticism when it announced plans to keep all of its stores closed until 5pm for the duration of the funeral.
While some welcomed the decision, others weren't happy that they'd be unable to get a Maccies fix for several hours. Now McDonald's has reopened its doors, and fans have noted 'colossal' queues outside stores across the UK.
McDonald's fans have taken to Twitter to report what they've been seeing. Prior to McDonald's reopening its doors, one Twitter user, @prestwichpapers said: "If you think The Queue to see the Queen was long enough, see what happens when @McDonalds opens again at 5pm." @andy_ocall added: "Ooof imagine the queue at #McDonalds when it opens at 5pm They weren't wrong."
