Former White House communications director Hope Hicks recently disclosed that she was present for phone calls between David Pecker, CEO of American Media Inc., and then-candidate Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign. Hicks stated that one of the calls took place shortly after the National Enquirer published an article on Ben Carson.
According to Hicks, during the call, Trump congratulated Pecker and his team on what he described as 'great reporting.' Trump reportedly went on to praise the article, referring to it as 'Pulitzer-worthy.'
