Honey Boo Boo shares glitzy new snaps from prom as fans fume over boyfriend's outfit

New photos of American reality television star Honey Boo Boo have emerged from her glitzy prom night, with fans all saying the same thing about the child star's beau.

17 year old Honey, real name Alana Thompson, looked seriously glamorous in a striking bright pink ball gown.

The embellished frock hugged the former child beauty pageant star as the dress sailed down to the ground and trailed behind her slightly.

Known for looking much younger from her Toddlers and Tiaras days, the TV starlet shared a string of snaps from her prom on her Instagram page, in view of her 1.1million followers.

Garnering more than 100,000 likes in under 24 hours, Honey could be seen posing with her 21-year-old boyfriend Dralin Carswell before being whisked away to her high school prom.

According to TMZ, Alana's beau was arrested last month for drinking under the influence, which came after a police chase while the Honey Boo Boo star was in the car.

Standing with Honey in the snaps she shared online, Dralin could be seen looking a little more casual than his girlfriend.

While Honey donned the bejewelled pink gown with her hair and makeup styled to perfection, her boyfriend wore black jeans, a white polo shirt and some white trainers.

Fans were quick to pick up on the stark differences between the couple's outfits, with one writing: "That's what he wore?" complete with a face-palm emoji.

"Beautiful. Why is your boyfriend not dressed up?" asked a second.

"Why is your prom date in jeans and a t-shirt?" pressed a third, while a fourth said: "He couldn't dress up in a suit."

And a fifth person added: "His rental suit would have been cheaper than that carriage."

While someone else defended Dralin's choice out ensemble when they said: "'Why isn’t her man dressed up?' Who cares??? She’s obviously the focus here…"

As well as being known globally for starring in Toddlers and Tiaras as a young child, Alana is known for her TV show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, which aired from 2012 until 2014.
