Honda’s New EV Scooter Looks Like A Zippy Urban Runabout, And We Can’t Have It

Honda sells a staggering variety of motorcycles and scooters around the world, but here’s the annoying part: depending on where you live, some of the coolest ones might as well not exist. Case in point, the new Honda QC3. It’s a compact electric scooter with storage, decent range, and completely normal styling. In other words, it looks like exactly the sort of zippy urban runabout we’d love to have. Except Honda built it specifically for India.

The QC3 is Honda’s third electric scooter for the Indian market, joining the QC1 and Activa e:. It also addresses some of the compromises of those earlier machines. The QC1 has a smaller battery and considerably less range, while the Activa e: uses Honda’s swappable battery system. The QC3 instead gets a fixed 3.0 kWh battery, meaning owners can simply plug it in at home rather than worrying about finding somewhere to swap batteries.
