Homes Under the Hammer star Martin Roberts was left really emotional as he announced he's returning to filming the BBC show after having emergency surgery. He shared an update with his 20,000 fans on Instagram, Birmingham Live reports.
He said: "So I've got some news and it’s actually pretty amazing news. Today is a very special day, it’s quite an emotional one to be honest because I've spoken to the doctors and they’ve said as long as I take it easy I'm ok to start work.
"So I am back today filming Homes Under The Hammer." He continued: "I'm in the valleys of Wales, I never thought I’d be so happy." Martin, 58, captioned the post on Instagram: "It’s a VERY special day… so I decided I should wear a VERY bright shirt to celebrate." He had to be taken to hospital last month for emergency surgery.
He explained how a sack around his heart was filling with fluid, in a problem called pericardial effusion. The medical emergency meant his heart was unable to pump and causing organ failure.
Luckily, Martin was discharged a week later and the star has now taken to his Instagram account on Tuesday (May 24) to share a video message announcing his comeback.
