Homeowner creates adorable DIY cat bedroom under the stairs complete with TV

Some pets are very lucky - they have an owner who is handy at DIY, has imagination and lives in a home that has some unused space to create something very special for them to call their own pet abode.

Transforming under the stairs or a cubby hole into a dog's den or a perfect place for a furbaby, and sharing the completed project on social media, has become a massive trend over the past few years.

One lucky cat called Wyatt must have surely thought he had landed on his paws when one day he was adopted by Bryan Davies and his family, who lavished him with love.

But then they made him maybe the coolest cat bedroom ever. Why shouldn't the newest member of the family get their own, dedicated slumber space?

A void of empty space along the wall in one of the human's bedrooms lent itself perfectly to be transformed into Wyatt's own, private pussycat bedroom space.

By lining the walls and ceiling with wood panels to make it more secure, the space could then be painted and furnished. The bed has a cosy mattress and, of course, animal design bedding that includes rabbits and owls, but the pillow at the head of the bed is all about the cats.

Of course, accessorising is key to creating any attractive and inviting space and Wyatt can enjoy keeping his paws cosy thanks to the colourful circular rug. Artwork is always an important aspect to the interior design of a bedroom too, and surely Wyatt is enjoying lying back on the bed and perusing the range of cat based pictures and drawings that adorn his walls.

But a bedroom should be a multifunctional space for your feline friend too, so there's a box of toys for Wyatt to play with - surely he shouldn't be snoozing all day? And if a manicure of the claws is required, the scratching post in the corner should be able to oblige.

But don't worry if you think Wyatt might be a little scared in the middle of the night because Brian has fitted an overhead light into the space, run on batteries, although how Wyatt switches it on to potter to the litter tray in the middle of the night is a mystery - luckily he has good night vision.

Arguably the most impressive aspect of the cat bedroom is the inclusion of the 'TV' mounted on the wall. It's actually a tablet that is placed between two shelves, with a clear plastic sheet at the front to stop it falling out but also to protect it, as Wyatt loves to reach out his paw when he's watching clips of birds.

He is also surely entertained by watching episodes of Channel 5's Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly, when he can feel smug that the silly canines are being naughty and having to be trained, while he is relaxing in his super cool bedroom. There's even a little chair in the corner for entertaining any furry friends who come to visit to play with toys or watch TV.

Writing on Twitter, Wyatt's pet parent says: "Here is the bedroom we finished for our cat this weekend. He actually goes in to nap and watch birds on YouTube :)".
