The Home Office is currently hiring immigration officers to help deliver what the job advert calls the "solution" to "illegal immigration".
The immigration officers will be tasked with enforcing the rule of law as the Home Office sees fit. The roles, advertised on an ongoing basis, ask for no particular previous experience as successful applicants will be trained over a period of 12-18 months "to enforce immigration laws by "identifying, arresting and detaining immigration offenders".
As part of their training, successful applicants will also learn how to "conduct database checks, examine evidence, search property and people to collect evidence, and gather intelligence". The work is described as "physically and mentally demanding", with personal "resilience and genuine integrity" a necessity for the job.
