Home Bargains has invested more than £7m in its new store on Myrekirk Road in Dundee.
It is due to open this Saturday, with 75 new jobs being created in the local community.
The new store will join over 575 across the UK, as the retail chain aims to open approximately 50 stores a year, with plans to reach 800 stores and 35,000 staff.
Paul Stuart, the new store manager, has been with Home Bargains for over six years, and he is joining from his current role as manager of Home Bargains at Kingsway East.
He previously worked in management roles at Aldi and Asda.
“We are thrilled to be opening a new Home Bargains store in Dundee, we know it will be a fantastic addition to this town, and I am very much looking forward to the opportunity,” Stuart commented.
“Myrekirk Road will be a great location for us, this is our fourth store in Dundee, and we’re proud to continue to offer local people top-branded goods at exceptionally low prices.”
The 31,700 sq ft store will offer a range of products, including homewares, health and beauty, sweets, snacks and drinks, fresh and frozen food, and a garden centre, which is due to open next year.
Established 40 years ago in Liverpool, the family-owned and family-run business has grown to become one of the largest privately-owned companies in the UK.
