Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds are set to front a Disney+ documentary series following SailGP’s Australian team, it has been announced.
The news comes a year after the high-profile Hollywood stars purchased the team, which is led on the water by its chief executive and Olympic gold medallist Tom Slingsby.
The docuseries will follow the duo and SailGP’s BONDS Flying Roos Australian team across a global racing season.
According to Disney+, viewers will watch catamarans race in close-to-shore courses at speeds of up to 100km/h, while gaining behind the scenes access into the demanding sports league.
In a statement, Jackman and Reynolds said: “This is our first collaboration since Deadpool & Wolverine and we once again anticipate action, comedy, heart but with a lot more water. And (fingers crossed) pirates. We hope there’s pirates in SailGP.”
Jackman, 57, and Reynolds, 49, first met on the set of the 2009 film X-Men Origins: Wolverine and have been friends ever since.

The series, which is yet to be named, will be produced by Maximum Effort and Eureka Productions in partnership with SailGP and the BONDS Flying Roos team.
It will be available on Disney+ internationally and on Disney+ and Hulu in the US.
Rob McElhenney, who is co-owner of Wrexham AFC with Reynolds, will also serve as an executive producer on the show.
The It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia actor already fronts the Emmy award-winning show Welcome To Wrexham with Reynolds.
The Hollywood pair have taken the club from the National League to the brink of the Premier League since buying it five years ago.
Jackman and Reynolds recently starred in the 2024 Marvel blockbuster Deadpool & Wolverine.
