Brown underwent surgery after suffering an SC joint injury in the preseason, and the Chiefs placed him on injured reserve.
Brown was thought to be lost for the season, but the latest update suggests he could play soon.
Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Brown has received “final clearance” to return to practice with the Chiefs. Brown’s 21-day practice window will either open on Friday or Monday.
Rapoport adds that the Chiefs will be “cautious” when handling Brown’s return.
Brown signed a one-year deal with the Chiefs this past offseason. Last season, Brown played for the Arizona Cardinals, catching 51 balls for 574 yards and four touchdowns in 14 games.
Brown, 27, is a former first-round pick for the Baltimore Ravens in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Kansas City Chiefs Begin Difficult Stretch

The Chiefs (12-1) have clinched the AFC West and sit atop the AFC conference standings.
Kansas City is about to embark on a grueling schedule, with three games in 11 days. The Chiefs play the Browns on Sunday, the Texans the following Saturday, and the Steelers on Christmas Day.
When asked about the difficult stretch, Patrick Mahomes is not thrilled about the schedule.
“It is not a good feeling,” Mahomes told reporters via KMBC. “I’m excited to play on Christmas to hopefully get back from what we did last year, but you never want to play this many games in this short of time. It’s just not great for your body. But at the end of the day, it’s your job, your profession. You have to come to work and do it.”
The Chiefs will attempt to become the first team in the modern NFL to win three consecutive Super Bowls.
