A rather vulgar and outdated advert from the late 1980s which shows a movie star enjoying a pint of lager in what is supposed to be Edinburgh has resurfaced online.
A cyclist as well as a highland marching band playing the bagpipes and drums travel through the street in opposite directions in the opening scene.
Paul Hogan, notorious for his Crocodile Dundee franchise role, which took movie box offices by storm in 1986, is seen holding a cold amber pint of Fosters lager as he exits the fictional ‘Castle Bar.’

The movie star approaches a table that has a blonde woman in a white and pink striped skirt suit sitting at it with both a Fosters pint and a gin & tonic in his hands.
Locals of the capital will struggle to recognise where the advert was filmed as it very much looks as though it must have been shot on a set in Hogan’s native Australia.
In the clip, the actor, who once won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for his performance in Crocodile Dundee, makes a sexist remark by saying: “Now the girls are really friendly up here in Edinburgh.
“Only known her for five minutes and she is already talking about this tattoo she wants to show me.”
Fosters tried to win over potential customers with edgy adverts in the 1980s but the clips today seem as though they are from another era entirely.
The clip was uploaded by atariman1988 on Youtube 15 years ago.
