Hollyoaks star Connor Calland revealed he had to be taken to the hospital after suffering a few injuries during a football match.

The actor, who is known for playing drug dealer Jordan Price on the soap in 2019 and 2020, shared the news on Instagram.

He ended up with two fractured bones in his arm as well as a popped ligament in his knee.

Taking to his Instagram page, he said: "60 minutes later... 2 fractures and a ligament pop... Gotta love the @rwcmd game."

On his Instagram Stories, he listed his injuries and said: "2 fractures in my arm and a knee brace… not ideal."

The star also posted a snap of himself looking cosy in his bed while wearing his arm in a sling.

His girlfriend, Monica, joked about his injuries and shared on her Instagram: "Goes to play one football match..."

Fans rushed to the comment section of Connor's original post to wish him a speedy recovery.

"I’m so sorry. I hope you feel better soon [heart emojis]," one user posted.

Another added: "Could only happen to you Connor!!" while another wrote: "Did you accidentally play a rugby game?"

Connor's character in Hollyoaks first made an appearance in 2019. He played a drug dealer who was going to sell ketamine to Sid Summer (Billy Price).

He was a large part of the storyline before being stabbed and killed off at the end of 2020.

Following his departure, Connor admitted leaving the series was bittersweet for him.

"I'm sad that I won't be stepping back on set at Hollyoaks, but it's also a pleasure to look back at the storyline and how it's all played out over the past year," he told Digital Spy at the time.

"It's been a big, mixed bag of emotions."

He continued: "Starting on the soap and having this be my first major job had its challenges, I had to overcome the pace of the work and how professional everyone is. It was a case of getting used to that, but I love being that busy and I'd love to stay within the soap world."
