Jorgie Porter has described her newborn son as a 'wonderful gift' following her tragic loss last year. The Hollyoaks actress welcomed a baby boy with her fiancé Ollie Piotrowski last month. The couple announced they were expecting in June in an adorable video on Instagram.
It showed the Theresa McQueen actress, her man and their dog moving their hands - and paw - to unveil the special sonogram photo. The joyous announcement came just months after Jorgie tragically suffered a miscarriage with quadruplets at 14 weeks.
After keeping her fans and followers up to date on her pregnancy, Jorgie announced the happy news of her son's arrival by sharing her joy on Instagram as she left the hospital with her family. The star, from Eccles, captioned a sweet image of the new parents smiling as Ollie carried their son with the words: "Welcome to the family… Our baby boy..."

She then confirmed his name to be Forest and the congratulations came flooding in. Jorgie, who underwent an elective C-section on November 29, and Ollie have now spoken about the arrival of the first child, who weighed 8lbs 2oz, and explained the decision behind his unusual name.
"I keep looking at him thinking I can’t believe you’re here," Jorgie, 34, has said in her first interview since her son's arrival with Hello! magazine. Property developer Ollie, 34, who is also a father to eight-year-old son Alfie, said Jorgie "took the lead" on their baby’s name. He said: "We got down to two or three options, but we didn’t want him to have a similar name to anyone else in his class at school so we decided Forest was the one. I love the name."
Last August, Jorgie and Ollie discovered during their 14-week scan that Jorgie had lost the quadruplets they had conceived naturally and in February they learnt of their second miscarriage at six weeks into the pregnancy – on the day of their engagement party. Jorgie, who has also competed on Dancing On Ice and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, said Forest’s arrival was even more special given their history.
"After what happened, both of us held part of our emotions back during the pregnancy, just in case,” she said to the publicaton. "People would say ‘Ooh! Next week, he’ll be here’ and we wanted to join in those conversations, but we were careful to not think too much about the future."
The soap star got engaged a year ago while staying at the Gleneagles Hotel in Perth and Kinross. She previously shared the romantic way Ollie popped the question, having been sent on a treasure hunt of 12 photo clues documenting their love story, each captioned with a handwritten memory and a final clue that led her to a lakeside chalet.
While no marriage plans are yet to be finalised, the pair said they are certain they’d like “more babies”. They added: "When you’ve been through as much as we have, you don’t want to think 'We’ve got something perfect, let’s get more.' If something naturally happens, amazing. If not, we’ll remain so grateful for what we have."
