Hollyoaks fans will have final confirmation this week about the fate of a much-loved character on the Channel 4 soap.
Ben Davies was shot and killed in a Hollyoaks spin-off, Hollyoaks: In The City, back in December 2006.
However with the series not renewed, the death was left on a major cliffhanger and it was never really said if the loved character was dead or not.
It wasn't really addressed in the main show at the time, while Ben, played by Marcus Patric, has been referenced on several occasions since then and over the years.
Just a few years ago he was mentioned by a character in the village, but all this did was confuse some fans more about Ben's true fate.
While he was shot and seemingly killed on screen, dying in Lisa Hunter's arms, later scenes left many believing he might have survived despite it being almost clear that this was not the case.
So with Gemma Atkinson reprising her role as Lisa this week, it seems the truth is finally shared.
A teaser clip from the soap which aired on This Morning on Tuesday shows Lisa telling Luke Morgan that Ben died 15 years ago.
This is the first time Lisa herself has confirmed the death, with her being at the scene of the crime all those years ago.
While it is soap land and she could be lying, it's unlikely with Lisa telling frontotemporal dementia sufferer Luke that he already knew about the death a while ago.
Ben was killed off in 2006 in tragic circumstances, when his bid to save Lisa from kidnappers led to him being fatally shot.
Lisa was kidnapped by her employer Stella, and when Ben learned of this, despite a recent split with the character, he raced to find her.
Lisa got into a scuffle and managed to grab a gun from one of her henchmen.
As Ben burst into the room to save Lisa, she accidentally shot him and killed him, with him dying in her arms.
The series did not return, so this was his final scene, with no aftermath to confirm his fate.
But now it seems the truth is out and, as predicted and hinted for years, Lisa did kill Ben all those years ago and he will not be making a comeback.
