Holly Willoughby has decided on a new greeting to kick off the new year as she marked her return to This Morning. The presenter hadn't been seen hosting the ITV daytime programme live since early December as she and co-host Phillip Schofield headed off on their festive break.
The duo did appear for a string of pre-recorded episodes between Christmas and New Year, however, they haven't hosted the show live for weeks with Josie Gibson, Andi Peters, Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond all stepping in to bring viewers the first string of shows of 2023.
However, that all changed on Monday (January 9) when Holly, 41, and Phillip, 60, returned to hosting duties on This Morning. The pair appeared from the show's ITV studio where they welcomed viewers to the first installment of the week as well as wished those watching a Happy New Year.
But prior to appearing on screen, Holly had a different way of sending well wished to her millions of followers as she took to Instagram with her first outfit post of the year. It is somewhat tradition for the mum-of-three to pop onto the photo-sharing platform and share first-look at what she's wearing for each show and letting her followers know where it is from.
Sharing her first of the year, Holly typed: "Good morning and happy new hair! Can’t wait to catch up and see you on @thismorning at 10am…" Fellow This Morning host Alison was among the first to respond, simply writing: "Stunning," alongside a love heart emoji.
It is also the first time fans have seen Holly's fresh locks after she underwent the chop with the help of her youngest child. Taking to Instagram on Sunday evening (January 8) ahead of her first appearance back on This Morning, Holly shared her eight-year-old son cutting inches off her locks.
The mum-of-three shared the short clip with her millions of followers which showed Chester's little hands using silver hairdressing scissors to chop off the length.
Holly captioned the post to her 8.1million followers: Chester decided it was time...when your 8-year-old gets hold of the scissors". The TV star could be heard saying to Chester in the clip: "Are you ready?" before gasping when he made the first snip before nervously adding: "Make sure it's nice and straight!"
Showing off the results on Monday morning, fans wasted no time in letting Holly know what they thought about her return to the short side after a period of keeping her trademark blond tresses long. @allthingswills said: "Oh now that’s just lovely! Happy new hair (and happy new year)."
