Holly Willoughby has been dealt a blow as her high profile show with the BBC, Freeze the Fear with Wim Hof, has been axed after just one series.
The series, which was fronted by TV presenter Willoughby, 42, and comedian Lee Mack, 55, saw eight celebrities embark on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure under the training of extreme athlete Wim Hof, 64.
Willoughby has been absent from screens since last October when she quit This Morning after 14 years following an alleged kidnap plot.
She is set to make her TV return on January 14 on ITV show Dancing On Ice alongside Stephen Mulhern, 46, but has one less option with Freeze the Fear now off the table.
A TV insider told The Sun: "This bad news caps off what's been an extremely difficult year for Holly, which has seen her drastically reassess her life and career.
"Having Freeze the Fear axed reduces her options and leaves a question mark over where she goes next after leaving her biggest gig as co-host of This Morning.
"It's also disappointing for her husband Dan [Baldwin], who runs the production company Hungry Bear that made the show."
It's not all bad for Willoughby however, as according to The Sun, she has been inundated with radio offers.
A source said: “Radio 2 and Global are both keen on getting Holly on their books.
“After she quit This Morning, she has more time on her hands and a weekly radio gig could be the perfect fit."
The Standard has contacted representatives for the BBC and Holly Willoughby for comment.
