Holly Willoughby ends up on ITV This Morning floor in live incident after being 'tackled' by Alison Hammond

Holly Willoughby was 'tackled' to the ground by Alison Hammond during a female takeover on the ITV daytime show on Monday (March 27) with Alison stepping in for Phillip Schofield.

Opening the show, Holly, 42, said: "Hello, good morning and welcome to Monday's This Morning." Holly kicked off the show as Alison, 48, held onto her hand before celebrating their hosting collab. Confirming Phillip's length of the absence, but not the reason why, she went on: "Phillip is taking the week off so all the adults have left the building... Alison's come to play," Holly said with a squeal. "It's so good to be here," Alison responded.

"It's nice actually, to start the week off," the former Big Brother star added as Holly asked if it was good to be on the show on a Monday. "And you're here," she added to Holly who replied: "It's lovely to have you here."

And it wasn't long before things took a chaotic turn when Holly fell to the floor after crashing into co-host Alison. The pair had been acting out a police chase in the studio, with Holly revealed as the 'criminal' by Alison who said: "Holly, it was you all along." Holly replied: "Oops, I better run!", with Alison telling viewers: "Don't you worry, I'll catch her! See you after the break."

But it all went wrong when Holly ran into Alison at speed and tumbled to the floor in front of the cameras. Alison then grabbed a hold of her co-star and friend before she fell to the ground. The show then went to an ad break before the cameras returned to find the duo back up right in the studio as they sat on the famous sofa.

"I'm so out of breath!" Alison said before Holly explained the incident to viewers and the clip aired. "Well not only did you catch me, but we sort of collided together and I ended up on the floor," she said as Alison joked: "Like a rugby tackle!" before Holly agreed: "Yes!".

A red-faced Alison said: "I'm so sorry!" before protesting: "You literally ran into my direction." To which Holly said in her own defence: "I didn't see you!" as Alison asked: "We didn't see any knicker there, did we?" Holly then confirmed: "No, we didn't see any knicker there."

She also revealed: "We did check, actually." Alison couldn't resist burstingDi into laughter before she cheekily joked: "We will be rewinding it!"
