Holly Willoughby took her children to Buckingham Palace to pay their respects to the Queen
(Picture: PA / Holly Willoughby)A plethora of stars have flocked to Buckingham Palace to pay their respects to Queen Elizabeth II following her death at the age of 96 on September 8.
As the Queen lays in state in Westminster Hall until her state funeral on Monday, many are still making pilgrimages to the late monarch’s former London residence.
Among them was This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby, 41, who took her three children with her.
Taking to Instagram, she shared pictures of Harry, 13, Belle, 11, and Chester, seven, looking at some of the floral tributes.
She also shared close ups of letters that they had written for the Queen.
Speaking about their poignant visit on the ITV daytime show, she explained that they felt it was important to take the letters to the palace.
She said: "They wrote letters, and I think that’s a nice way to get out their feelings and grief. For me, explaining it to Chester somewhat, from being a little girl, this is what she was destined to do.”
Adding: "All her dreams had to be put on the back burner.”
Willoughby wasn’t the only one who encouraged her children to remember Her Majesty.
Rochelle Humes went to Buckingham Palace with her family to lay down bouquet of flowers.
The former The Saturdays singer, 33, shared a snap of her daughters Alaia-Mai and Valentina outside the palace.
Alongside her post, she wrote: “Tonight we paid our respects before bed.”
Former TOWIE star Amy Childs, 32, braved the rain to travel to the capital with her dad, her two children and her niece.
Childs posted a picture of her relatives outside the palace gates holding Union Jack flags.
She also shared an image of her four-year-old daughter Polly writing a note for the Queen along with a pink rose tied with a matching bow.
Keeping it in the family, Peter Andre, 49, revealed that he too had gone to pay his respects with wife Emily and their children Amelia and Theo.
The Mysterious Girl singer left flowers and cards, with his children writing their own special messages for the Queen.
Australian Andre shared a clip of other people’s floral tributes.
He also posted a picture of Amelia’s note, which read: “Thank you for being such a lovely queen. I was so sad to hear the news.
“Me and my family will miss you.”
