Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield make ITV This Morning hosting announcement

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield made an announcement about the hosting line up on This Morning. The duo were back at the helm of the ITV daytime show on Thursday (May 26).

It was another jam-packed show as Holly, 41, and Phillip, 60, were joined by Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelley to chat about their new book, Proppa Happy, as well as the return of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here later in the year. Dr Louise Newson also returned to the programme and helped to shine a light on premature menopause as part of the shows ongoing campaign This Morning Takes on The Menopause.

There was also the usual food and fashion with Joseph Denison and Gok Wan, perfect pitchers with Helen McGinn ahead of next weekend's Jubilee celebrations, and even two special performances from Nile Rogers and Chic.

But during the latest installment of game Spin To Win, Phillip revealed that the often choas-causing segment wouldn't be on next week and will return during the first full week in June as they are taking a break with the pair not back on screen after the Queen's Platinum Jubilee weekend.

He said: "We’re off next week!" before at the end of the show, Holly and Phillip confirmed that Alison Hammond wouldn't be joined by Dermot O'Leary as normal on Friday.

Instead, she'll once again be joined by Craig Doyle. The Irish TV presenter went down a storm with This Morning viewers when he made his presenting debut on the popular programme earlier this month. Prior to his full appearance on the program, Craig hosted the competition segment from the Emerald Isle.

Alison will be back with Craig on Friday's This Morning (ITV)

But he did make his way front and centre on May 2 as he filled in for Dermot who Alison said at the time was 'taking a day off'. While the reason for Dermot's absence on Friday hasn't been revealed, fans will be happy to see Craig, who is known for his work on BBC, ITV and more recently BT Sport, back.

Following his first full appearance on the show, fans were quick to make a demand. @Sondotcom21 tweeted: "Craig is hilarious, we need more Craig #ThisMorning." While @KathrynAnne88 said: "So Craig smashed it. Him, Vernon and Dermot are naturals #ThisMorning."
