Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield have to join long queue at NTAs after Queuegate

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield had to join a long queue for the National Television Awards following weeks of criticism for 'queue jumping'.

The This Morning presenters had to wait with other stars of the TV world to get to their seats, after they came under fire for skipping the queue at the late Queen's lying in state last month - but later said they were there to represent the media.

At the NTAs on Thursday evening, Phillip was pictured patiently waiting in line to get into Wembley's OVO Arena after posing for pictures on the red carpet.

A source even added Holly had 'no issue' with queuing to get into the highly-anticipated yearly event.

"Holly queuing up to go inside caused a few eyebrows to raise," they said.

"She got a really warm reception on the red carpet and was greeting fans with a huge smile on her face."

The source added to The Sun : "She had no issue with queuing once she was ushered inside and stood with her husband Dan Baldwin."

Other celebrities were also queueing to enter the venue.

Mirror have contacted representatives for comment.

It comes after they were falsely accused of skipping the queue at the lying in state (ITV)

After receiving backlash, Holly and Phil released a pre-recorded statement on This Morning the following Tuesday insisting they would 'never jump a queue' and explained they had media accreditation.

Despite that, public anger continued to mount and a petition calling for them to be sacked from ITV has reached over 76,000 signatures.

Online criticism didn't stop the presenting duo from winning an award for the fifth year in a row.

The hit ITV show had been up against Loose Women, The Chase and The Repair Shop in the Best Daytime Show category.

Addressing the crowd, Phil said: "Please don't ever feel like we get complacent."

"Thank you so much for everything," Holly said as she addressed the public at home. "You make our show for us, you really do."

They then nudged fellow presenter Alison Hammond forward to say a few words.

"We're all so grateful for this award," Alison said. "I should have won one of these as well - you know what? Bradley Walsh, Graham Norton and the legends that are Ant and Dec are great, but I should have got one!"
