Holly Willoughby allows Bradley Walsh to disrupt This Morning interview to address ITV 'dropped' claims

Bradley Walsh was keen to address claims one of his ITV shows had been dropped as he appeared on This Morning. The TV star appeared on the popular daytime show via video link alongside his son Barney.

The pair were on hand to chat to This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield about the return of their hilarious ITV show, Breaking Dad, which sees the father-and-son pair back in their RV as they head on another epic adventure,

This time, Bradley and Barney are heading to Latin America where they'll take on various thrill-seeking activities across Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama. But as they chatted about the new series, Holly, 41, explained to viewers how Bradley had something he wanted to 'clear up and clarify'.

The Chase host was eager to speak to those tuning over claims his other ITV show, The Larkins, is set to be dropped due to "disappointingly low" ratings for its second series and alleged "cast disagreements". The Larkins is reported to have had 2.9million viewers for its second series - compared with 4.8million for the first episode in the opening season back in October 2021.

The Sunday night drama is a reboot of 90s classic The Darling Buds of May and stars Bradley as Pop Larkin and Joanna Scanlan as Ma. It follows the couple in the late 1950's, basking in their idyllic and beautiful patch of paradise in Kent with their six children.

"I've had a few calls that it [series two] might be the last, because of some problems with viewing figures," Bradley said on This Morning. "Viewing figures are absolutely fine; there's no problem with viewing figures. In comparison to the first series they all went well."

Bradley then blamed himself, adding: "It's a 14 week shoot. I haven't got time to do this year, I don't have 14 weeks. So it's down to me, not anything else. We're trying, at the moment, to get something together to do a special. So that's what it's all about."

But back to his current TV series and viewers will see former Coronation Street star Bradley tackle his fear of heights with their toughest challenge yet. After THis Morning shared a clip which gave a look at the challenge, titled Via Ferrata and sees the 62-year-old and his son climbing up a sky-high mountain in Mexico, Bradley said: "It's made me feel like I've got heart palpitations and a bit sick watching it now."

He added: "I actually haven’t seen that." Explaining what it all was, he added: "When they said we were doing the Via Ferrata, I thought that was the place we were visiting. Via Ferrata means iron bridge, and what it is, is solid plates stuck up this sheer mountain face and it's probably I don’t know a thousand meters up."
