Holly Carpenter waited 3 hours to get a taxi home after night out in Dublin

Holly Carpenter waited nearly three hours to get a taxi home after a night out in Dublin City centre.

The model said that she has struggled to get a taxi “since before Christmas” any time she has been out after midnight.

She told FM104: “It’s basically been every time that I’ve been out since midnight, the last while kind of before Christmas.

“I was at a wedding at the Westin Hotel and we wanted to leave at about 1:30am. We couldn't actually get a taxi until 4:00am.

"I was trying to book into the hotel at that stage but there were no rooms left.

“Then I was at something in the Convention Centre over the weekend, and couldn't get a taxi.

"The same thing happened with the app, it kept on saying ‘there’s no cars, there’s no cars’.”

Meanwhile, the former Miss Ireland took to Instagram yesterday to call out a fake Tinder profile pretending to be her.

The Catfish claimed to be 21-year-old Sophie, who is living in Dublin and describes herself as a “materialistic girl who just wants to travel and make memories. Looking for the right partner to do it with”

But they used photos of Holly on their profile.

Holly told the Sunday World: “Clearly, I’m 30 years old. It’s a bit of a stretch to say I’m 21 in the picture but I’ll take it.

“This, realistically, has been happening since probably 2011 so I’m kind of used to it now at this stage. That’s when I won Miss Ireland so I was 19 or 20. I’ve had 10 years of it now.

“But it can kind of freak me out a little bit because I don’t know what this person’s saying or who they are.

“Like, they could talk to someone for months and then arrange to meet up and they’ll think they’re meeting the person in the photo and it’s not them.”
