Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield couldn't resist commenting on Boris Johnson's Partygate apology when presenting This Morning.
The pair made a swipe at the Prime Minister and his apology for being found to have broken lockdown rules while presenting Wednesday's show. Boris Johnson apologised for his Partygate fine in the House of Commons yesterday - but again claimed he didn't know his own Covid rules.
He gave an "unreserved" apology - before immediately denying he had deliberately misled MPs when he said "all guidance was followed completely" in No10. Speaking on the ITV show, Phil referred to Mr Johnson's remarks as he said: "Following the Prime Minister's... apology in parliament for breaking his own lockdown laws, forgiveness is the subject of our phone-in today."

As Phil struggled not to laugh, he continued: "Here's what he said..."
A clip then aired of Mr Johnson as he told MPs: "Let me also say not by way of mitigation or excuse - but purely because it explains my previous words in this House - that it did not occur to me then or subsequently that a gathering in the Cabinet room just before a vital meeting on Covid strategy could amount to a breach of the rules."
The Mirror reports that afterwards, Phil was seen raising his eyebrows as Holly said: "Well, Deirdre is here later. What kind of things can people get in touch about later?"
Phil quipped: "Boris could call, couldn't he?" Holly exclaimed: "Yeah, Boris give us a call!"
"Yeah, we're talking about forgiveness," Deirdre said. "Saying sorry can just be so hard, can't it? And maybe you think someone owes you an apology and you really want them to say sorry before you can move on from that."
In what seemed like a dig to the PM, she continued: "Or maybe someone has apologised by they didn't seem sincere, it's more about a gesture, and you don't really think they're sorry and you can't really forgive them. Or maybe you know that you should be saying sorry to someone - you know you've done wrong but you're really struggling to get that word out because we know that is the hardest thing to say."
