Holidaymakers are being warned after a couple said they were trapped in Turkey until they could pay their bills following a medical emergency.
Saul Daly, who is originally from Liverpool, was on holiday in the resort of Side with his partner Kathleen McLean when he was rushed to an intensive care unit after it was found that he had a bleed in his lungs.
Speaking to Belfast Live, Kathleen said he had been given the all-clear to fly home to Belfast to receive further treatment at the Royal Victoria Hospital, however he is unable to do so until his bill for the hospital stay has been paid for. She said the couple had got insurance before going on holiday, but the insurance company is refusing to pay all of the bill, meaning the pair need to raise £15,000 in order to return home.

Saul is originally from Liverpool and Kathleen from Glasgow, but have lived in the Belfast area for a number of years. Kathleen said her insurance provider will only pay half of Saul's medical bills.
They are now desperately trying to raise the funds so they can return home to the UK.
Citizens Advice highlights the importance of adequate travel insurance. It says people should choose a policy that covers their needs, compare policies on the cover they offer - as well as the cost - and check if you have other insurance that will cover you while away from home.
Its guidance says: "Sometimes, travel insurance might be included as an extra service offered through your bank account or credit card. You should check how much you're paying for this and what kind of cover it offers. For example, cover may be limited for your spouse or partner. It might be better to buy a stand alone policy."
