Lean hog futures posted losses of 5 cents to $1.10 at the Thursday close. Open interest was down 603 contracts on Thursday. USDA’s national base hog price was at $72.51 in the Thursday PM report, back up 7 cents from the day prior. The CME Lean Hog Index was down another 31 cents on October 6 at $78.91.
Export Sales data showed 26,872 MT of pork sales in the week of October 1 for 2026 shipment. Actual exports were tallied at 32,803 MT in that week, down 5.7% from the week prior.
