The Hockeyroos have downed Switzerland 3-0 to revive hopes of directly qualifying for this year's World Cup.
The Hockeyroos' triumph was underpinned by two goals from Neasa Flynn in the crunch match at a qualification tournament in Chile.
The win sets the Australians up for a semi-final against Ireland on Sunday - the victor will qualify for the World Cup in Belgium and the Netherlands later this year.
The semi-final loser will be pitched into a bronze medal game - the winner of that match will also qualify for the cup.
A final spot will be saved for the highest-ranked fourth-placed team across the two qualification tournaments - the second begins in India next week, ensuring a nervous wait for whoever finishes fourth in Santiago.
The Hockeyroos were denied automatic qualification when New Zealand beat them in last year's Oceania Cup.
The Australians thumped France 4-0 in the opening game but then suffered a shock 2-1 loss to the hosts.
But the Hockeyroos bounced back with a clinical win over Switzerland.
Flynn opened scoring with a well-taken field goal in the eighth minute and added another in the 51st from a penalty corner.
Five minutes later, Australia's Mihaylia Howell scored with a field goal to ice the result.
