The chief executive and head coach of the Glasgow Clan have been suspended following their signing of Lasse Uusivitra.
Fans of the Braehead side hit out last night after it was revealed the 33-year-old faces an alleged rape charge in America.
The clan have since said the Finish national will no longer be joining the team.
The hockey team announced his signing at 7pm last night but was forced into a U-turn two hours later.
In a statement issued by the Clan chairman Neil Black at 9.21pm he said two members of senior management had been suspended with immediate effect.
He said: “At 7.45pm last night I was made aware for the first time of a major situation which merits further internal investigation and this has led to the immediate suspension of both the Clan chief executive Gareth Chalmers and the Clan head coach Malcolm Cameron.
